Introducing Marie Tate! Marie Tate is the Executive Director of Speak Up Youth Forums, an organization that brings young people together to discuss the social issues that affect them most. They’ve held forums on Racism, Bullying, Mental Health, Education & Career Planning, Drugs & Addiction and most recently on Anti-Black racism. (We’ll be hosting one on COVID, next month, online, with the Vancouver Public Library). She’s also a youth advocate who started speaking about anti-racism and equity in education while helping youth and their families deal with the Lord Byng bomb threat in 2018. She worked with other community members, teachers, school board trustees and government officials to change the policies of the Vancouver School Board. Marie is also the mother of two boys who have been involved in private, public and homeschooling.
